Responsible for the staffing, Patient care and concerns, cleanliness and inventory of the sleep lab.
Ability to conduct overnight sleep studies, MSLT and HSAT.
Ability to score sleep studies preferred.
Maintain confidentiality when dealing with any patient information.
Interact with patients, physicians, coworkers and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
Handle stressful and difficult situations in a calm and professional manner. Communicate concerns/issues to management in an appropriate and timely manner.
Is available to work night shifts as a Sleep tech as and when required.
Sleep Study Scheduling: monitor sleep lab processes to ensure that patients are being scheduled and reports are ready to be delivered promptly for all in-lab and Home sleep apnea sleep tests.
Personnel in sleep lab: maintain accurate personnel files on all sleep techs and provide a copy to the administrator on an annual basis. Maintain accurate records and documentation of staffing problems and disciplinary actions and provide a copy to the administrator. Hold and document regular staff meetings. Meeting minutes will be documented and kept in an area accessible to staff and administration at all times.
Inventory management: Maintain linen and supplies in a cost effective manner and develop a communication and tracking system to ensure that supplies are stocked properly. Maintain clean work environment and clean equipment.
Administration: Maintain accurate reports and provide them to the administrator as scheduled or requested.
Maintain communications with administrator and provide him/her with information regarding sleep lab activities, regulatory changes, equipment needs, patient and/or physician feedback, and any other information that may affect the operation and/or growth of the sleep lab.
Keep up with regulatory changes and provide information to technicians and administration in a timely fashion.
Advice administration of any changes needed to be made to maintain regulatory compliance.
Maintain accreditation of all accredited programs
Participate in marketing efforts of the sleep lab
All duties as requested by administrator regarding the sleep lab including charting, data entry, scanning and faxing and other general office duties.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/move up to 20 pounds and be able to walk, push, pull, grasp, bend, stoop, squat and reach as necessary. Must be able to hear efficiently. Specific visual ability requirements include close, distance and peripheral vision, hand-eye coordination, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to retrieve, communicate and present information in a written, auditory and visual manner.
