Your day.

As a Sleep Tech you need to know how to:

• Demonstrate ability to operate equipment and perform all sleep lab procedures


• Perform patient hook up and machine calibrations according to department policy. 


• Follow established department procedures to ensure the most accurate data collection. 


• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend Polysomnographic acquisitions, initiate treatment and follow decision tress based on findings.


• Routinely score one of two studies acquired to include report preparation for physician analysis and recommendations. 


• Record routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of Polysomnographic results.


• Routinely perform 12 week follow up phone calls (2 to 4/night per tech) per AASM requirements.


• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.

• Participate in equipment care and maintenance.  Identify and reports any abnormalities.


• Conduct patient educations and adjusts teaching techniques according to patient needs


• Participate in the inter-scorer reliability program (ISR) and meets scoring QA criteria within 85% agreement with the Gold Standard.

Your experience.

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with 2 yearsâ™ experience in sleep diagnostics, OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2 yearsâ™ experience in sleep diagnostic, OR Registered EEG Technician with 2 yearsâ™ experience in sleep diagnostics, required


• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification, required
