Plan, coordinate and administer activities for programs at Duke Health and Well-being (DHW); develop, coordinate and advise on policy related to assigned major programs. Work with the Program Manager and other DHW leadership to develop, maintain, deliver, and evaluate high quality well-being and mindfulness trainings, as well as other programs and initiatives. Focus is on programs related to mindfulness, personal growth, and the Leadership Program in Health and Well-Being.
HOURS:
Standard Monday-Friday 8am-5pm,
Occassional evenings and weekends per the need of Duke Well-Being
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Plan, coordinate and administer activities of assigned programs to include developing, implementing, and supervising related procedures, processes, services and systems.
Develop, plan, coordinate and implement activities including, but not limited to, seminars, conferences, workshops, short courses, clubs, shows, public events and other related programs both virtually and in-person; develop and coordinate new ideas and concepts for program themes, materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing program components.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness.
Coordinate and/or participate in public relations and marketing activities to include preparing and supervising the production of brochures, bulletins, newsletters, social media, and other promotional materials and/or publications, preparing press releases, designing ads and fliers, and responding to inquiries; develop plans and schedules for release of publicity materials.
Represent assigned programs; serve on various committees and attend professional meetings as appropriate.
Maintain liaison with other programs, offices and departments at Duke to coordinate program business and to accomplish program objectives; interface with external organizations and contractors as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
Involved in the preparation of budgets; forecast, monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds as appropriate.
Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Provide administrative support to staff within assigned program areas to support the accomplishment of program objectives; develop, coordinate, and advise staff regarding program policies. Communicate with prospective, current, and graduate students, and provide technology support for sessions.
Develop a thorough knowledge and use of Learning Management System functionality.
Occasional work outside standard business hours.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion ofa bachelor's degree program
Experience
Work requires three years of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
Preferred: Knowledge of well-being/wellness areas (Nutrition/Lifestyle, Mental/Emotional Well-Being, Mindfulness, Fulfillment/Purpose, Physical Activity/Fitness, Sleep/Rest, Physical Environment, etc.) and program coordination experience. Facilitation experience in virtual and in-person settings.
