Additional Information About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and patient-centered PTA to join our rehab unit. You will be able to work with our world renowned medical team and a help a variety of patients in the acute and rehab units. If you are a licensed PTA we would love to hear from you!
Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM
- 1 weekend a month
OverviewChristian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders.
Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting.
Role Purpose
Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
- Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
- Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
- Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
- Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy Assistant license
